Introductory Reflection
Be gentle with yourself, Be gentle with others, And never stop striving to be all God created you to be, The very best version of yourself. ...Matthew Kelly
As we approach the Christmas season and winter, it is a perfect time to quietly contemplate a renewal of our collective spirit dedicated to the CNR motto of SERVIAM. In this issue we reflect on the 5-year anniversary of the CNR Alumni affiliation with Mercy University and shine the Alumni Spotlight on Tara Alfano, Director of Development - CNR at Mercy.
Cognizant of our finite nature, what better way is there to ensure the continued legacy of CNR for generations to come than through the CNR Serviam Endowed Scholarship Fund, which we hope you will join in supporting.
Peace.

Promises Made, Promises Kept Two Remarkable and Unique Visions
The beginning of the 2024-25 academic year marked two extraordinary milestones. The first is the 120th anniversary of the founding of the College of New Rochelle as the first Catholic women’s college in New York State at a time when women did not have the right to vote in our country. The second is the 5th anniversary of the launch of “CNR Alumni at Mercy College” (now Mercy University) – a unique venture that has succeeded beyond the expectations of most of us, even the initial believers. Did You Know?
On October 29th Mercy University’s Career Services Department launched “Mercy Link,” a new online community that enables CNR and Mercy alumni to mentor Mercy students, identify job opportunities for both students and alumni, and network with other alumni.
One of the features of “Mercy Link” is the virtual groups option which allows you to connect with others to share similar interests and experiences. Groups can be used to stay abreast of what is happening in a particular industry, learn about events, share opportunities with a larger audience, and answer questions that young professionals may have about a specific industry.
Virtual groups include the following: Alumni to Alumni Networking, Black Professionals, Asian-American and Pacific Islander Professionals, Clinical Healthcare, Business and Nonprofit Administration, Finance and Accounting, Government and Law, Human Services and Education, and Hispanic and Latinx Professionals.

Tech Corner
Let it ring! Spam calling and robocalls are becoming a daily nuisance for most people, whether it be on their mobile phones or their home phones. If you do not recognize the caller’s phone number, or the caller is not on your contact list, do not pick up the call. If the call is important, the caller will leave a message, upon which you can act if you so choose.
If, instead, you answer one of these calls, you are essentially letting the caller know that the number they have reached is valid. Your number can in turn be sold to other telemarketers, or worse… Click here to read the full article Tech Corner article.
